Drone sent to Israel

Although this even happened while we were devouring turkey dinners, it has major ramifications.
Tell me about the drone shot down in Israel.   The conversation at my family dinner - since two relatives just returned from Lebanon - brought up this event and some agreed that this could be the final event to send the Middle East into full meltdown.
While this event is enough to warrant a month of discussion, some ideas to get your keyboards moving:

- What specifically took place?  What is a drone?  Who should be held responsible?  Who is responsible for the monitoring of drones and where? Should drones be legal? How have drones been used in the U.S. / Canada?  Should they be allowed in Can/U.S.? Be specific.

  1. This is my weekly post.
There was a launch of a drone air craft into Israel by Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group called Hezbollah (or the party of god, a powerful political and military organization in Lebanon made up mainly of Shai Muslims) (1). It was a sign of the Islamic republics military capabilities, Hezbollah took responsibility for the drone air craft which was shot down by Israel after flying 25 miles the Jewish state, saying the drone parts were manufactured in Iran and assembled in Lebanon.

Because of this there has been more tension in the region with Israel threatening to bomb the nuclear sites of Hezbollah patron Iran (2). If Israel attacked, Iran has threatened to attack US military bases in the Middle East and retaliate which would create even more conflict between the two, which also means it would be followed up by more retaliation.

Minister Ahmad Vahidi is an Iranian politician and former commander of the Revolutionary Guards. He is currently the minister of Defence in Iran. He said to the state television that Iran believe Hezbollah had the right to launch the drone into Israeli airspace since Israel's warplanes "repeatedly violate Lebanese airspace". This tells us that Israel has had conflict with Iran even before this incident which is probably part of the reason why it led to it.

A drone is a pilotless radio-controlled aircraft. Personally I don't think that drones should be legal. My reasoning for that is because it kills to many people, including people that are technically innocent and just apart of a certain region. I feel as if it is almost a cowardly way of getting to your enemies. It would be different if the drones were only used to spy on military bases, because that way you would be able to keep tabs on different militaries without physically having to go there. Drones in the US and Canada have been used to mainly kill people and spy. The drone is something that is mainly used by the US and not so much Canada. Whenever they send drones it usually ends with multiple people dead or severely injured. The main reason why I don't believe drones should be used is because I don't agree with war and don't believe that there should even be war. When these missiles are sent you can guarantee that many people will die, and it will result in retaliation between different regions.

  2. This is my weekly post.

On saturday Israeli air force had to shoot down a drone because it had entered Israel. This has been happing for a while and Israeli government is not impressed. The person who was in charge of sending this drone was Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan.(1) He says that it’s their right to fly these drones over different territories.(1) Meanwhile the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu says that they have, and will continue to defend their borders at sea.(1) He is trying to stop terror that these drones create.(1) Also Sayyed Hassan as told media that this won’t be the last time they send drones over occupied borders.(1) This group of Hezbollah people have been in war with Israel before in 2006(2), so these actions are normal but want to be stopped by the Israeli government.

A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A drone is controlled either by computers in the vehicle or under the remote control, also could be controlled by another vehicle on the ground.(3) They are used for missions in the military that are too dangerous for manned aircraft(3).

The person that should be held responsible for this event is Sayyed Hassan who told media that this is not the first time he has sent a drone into Israeli territory and it won't be the last.(1) The United Nations is normally in charge of monitoring drones usually in the middle east.(3)

I do not think drones should be illegal because they have many usages besides the armed attacks everyone hears in the news. Companies can use drones for remote sensing, or maybe commercial aerial surveillance.(3) Also, they can be used to perform geophysical surveys in business dealing with oil, gas, and mineral exploration.(3) They can be used for transportation of goods.(3) Yes there have been some cases of death and wrong uses of these drones but the good out weighs the bad in this case. They should be allowed but controlled.

Yes drones have been used in Canada and the U.S.A.(4) The US uses them more often but we have used them before for example in the Arctic for the first time. This was part of the largest military exercise ever in the Far North.(4) The US uses them for just about everything from surveillance to violence(3).

Yes, I think they should be allowed in North America because they have man benefits that can help our Canadian and American companies compete and succeed in the world of business helping with research and many things like that. They can also help with security which might be able to reduce the amount of terrorist attacks. All in all UAV’s are very helpful if you use them right and should be allowed to anyone that wants them.

  3. Drones are just another symptom of shrinking levels of privacy in our Orwellian big-brother controlled society that shows us having less and less privacy every single day.
